FasalVision ("App", "we", "our") is operated by FasalVision ("Company"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application. Please read this policy carefully. If you disagree with its terms, please discontinue use of the App.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide

  • Phone Number: Used for OTP-based authentication via Firebase Auth. We do not store your phone number on our own servers — Firebase manages authentication.
  • Profile Information: Name, state, crops you grow — provided voluntarily during registration.
  • Farm Diary Data: Expense, income, and work logs you enter — stored securely in Firebase Firestore under your user account.
  • Photos: Images you upload for disease scanning or community posts — stored in Firebase Storage.
  • Community Posts: Questions, answers, and comments posted in the community section.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Location: Used only to fetch local weather data. We do not store or share your location.
  • Device Information: Device type, OS version — for analytics and crash reporting only.
  • Usage Data: Feature usage patterns — collected anonymously via Firebase Analytics to improve the App.
  • Crash Reports: Anonymized crash logs via Firebase Crashlytics.

1.3 Information from Third Parties

  • Weather API: We send your approximate location to WeatherAPI.com to fetch weather data. Their privacy policy applies: weatherapi.com/privacy
  • Mandi Prices: Fetched from data.gov.in (Government of India) — no personal data is shared.
  • AI Features: Photo and text prompts sent to Google Gemini API for disease detection and chatbot responses. Google's privacy policy applies to this processing.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • Authenticate and maintain your account
  • Provide AI-powered disease detection and advisory services
  • Display relevant mandi prices and weather data for your location
  • Store your farm diary entries and enable P&L reports
  • Enable community features (Q&A, photo sharing)
  • Send push notifications about price alerts, weather warnings (only if you opt-in)
  • Improve App features through anonymous analytics
  • Comply with legal obligations

3. Data Sharing & Disclosure

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information. We may share data in the following limited cases:

  • Service Providers: Firebase (Google) for auth, database, storage, and analytics — bound by Google's data processing agreements
  • AI Processing: Google Gemini API for AI features — images/text shared only for generating responses
  • Legal Requirements: If required by law, court order, or governmental authority
  • Community Content: Posts and photos you share in the Community section are visible to other registered users

4. Data Storage & Security

  • All data stored on Google Firebase infrastructure (servers in asia-south1 region)
  • Firebase Security Rules restrict data access to authenticated users only
  • Photos stored in Firebase Storage with user-specific access controls
  • We use HTTPS for all data transmission
  • No payment information is collected or stored

5. Data Retention

  • Account data retained until you delete your account
  • Farm diary entries retained as long as your account exists
  • Community posts retained until deleted by you or removed by moderation
  • Analytics data: anonymized and retained per Firebase Analytics defaults (14 months)
  • Crash logs: retained for 90 days via Firebase Crashlytics

6. Your Rights

  • Access: Request a copy of your personal data
  • Correction: Update incorrect information via Profile settings
  • Deletion: Delete your account and all associated data — see Account Deletion page
  • Notification Opt-out: Disable push notifications in App Settings → Profile → Notification toggle
  • Location: Deny location permission — weather will require manual city entry

7. Children's Privacy

FasalVision is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we discover such data has been collected, we will delete it immediately. Contact us at hello@fasalvision.com if you have concerns.
